It has been a while since a player joined the Mustangs' football roster amid as much hype as that surrounding former Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert, who is transferring to SMU. Gilbert visited with PonyFans.com to discuss a wide range of topics, including what it was like to play for his hometown team in Austin, his decision to transfer to SMU, the health of his shoulder and his goals for the 2012 season.

Great job. I really like his insight. 11 is perfect cause he in some ways is similar in attitude and understand of the game as another #11. I worry the game day environment may be a shock and let down for him. Glad Jones got him
