Wish him well:

Matt Doherty @DohertyMatt 6m
Sitting in my new back yard in Mooresville, NC. Nice breeze blowing. Kids are in the pool. Pine trees. Gotta love NC.

If I remember correctly, didn't Matt play with Michael Jordan? Good luck.

I wonder if he enjoyed some of the near hurricane blast that hit Washington DC Friday?

Living in a northern suburb of Charlotte. Sounds like he will be moving again if he wants to coach.....

Aren't we still paying him? I wouldn't be working either.

We're paying Mr. Doherty $500K for doing nothing. Great negotiations Orsini. Matter of fact, Orsini is on the SMU payroll for doing nothing too. I need to get in touch with their agent. We should all have a deal like theirs.

anyone who lives or has lived in the Carolinas will tell you it's an easy place to love. Much more difficult moving from a place like this to Dallas than the other way around. Hope Doh can catch on in some capacity with Charlotte. Dement is another of our former coaches who has lived in both areas.

When you get out in the real world and not in Cox land, you will find that commonplace when someone is fired with an agreed timed contract. Whether is was Orsini or any other AD, its what happens.

It's perfectly clear. You are a Doherty supporter/butt kisser... and I and many others are not. We are both entitled to our opinions. Mine is based on the pitiful results and W/L record by Doherty during his time here. It's nothing personal. Let it go. Embrace the new world and new ways of Larry Brown and staff. It's a new beginning for SMU basketball.

First off, I'm pretty far from a supporter of Doh, just supported the rehab of the head coaching position. Try to get my stance right, cause your take is w/o a clue. I killed the man this past year, far worse than anyone else, to the point of catching the ire of our gestapo ex-AD. To the point of me verbally abusing the man in new media & his staff in person. Not my finest moment, stay classy and all. Second, no one on this board knows more about Larry Brown, this staff, and their new ways, more than I do. I've never ever had better access to a staff and I've loved Brown forever.

As for your your stance on Doh, his results etc, it has nothing to do w/a legitimate buy-out. Everyone agree's he should have been let go, only you are naive enough to think in a world of guaranteed contracts/buy-outs that he shouldn't be paid. It's ridiculous.
