Most of the games would likely be on the NBC Sports Network so it would be similar to an ESPN deal. The biggest reason to go with NBC over ABC is that the Big East would be NBC's priority, whereas it would be filler content for ABC/ESPN.

After the synergies between ESPN and ABC became obvious, CBS and NBC began scrambling to set up a similar setup.

While the Notre Dame game and "big" Big East games are going to be on the broadcast network, the rest of the games are going to be key content for NBCsports. Best of all, the entire NBC Sports family will be motivate to make the Big East a premier property.
