SMU allotment to Baylor SOLD OUT

Post by PonyPlayer4 »

Just got off the phone with the SMU ticket office, and SMU has sold out their allotment. This is great news.

If anyone still wants tickets to the Baylor game the number for their office is 254-710-1000.

See you in Waco.

great-still about 6,000 seats availiable. Usually alotment is 3,000 to 4,000. But I would like to know too. 4,000+ would be a real step in the right direction and we haven't come close to that in 25 years for a regular seaqson game. Section U must be HUGE!!! Does anybody have tickets not in Section U?

according to a Baylor computer ticketbase analysis in the following thread-there are only 4,158 tickets left as of this morning. An interesting footnote-that UT/Baylor game last year didn't technically sellout last year at 47,000 and change. It would be great if we could point that out with a full house.

----------------
FROM BAYLORFANS.COM THREAD:

looking at the map of the individual tickets like I was saying above, there are approximately....

400 in Section B

8 available seats in Section I

350 available in Section J

That is ALL for the home side.

On the visitor's side.......

Section R has approximately 375 tickets left.

Section S has approximately 1400 tickets left.

Section T has approximately 875 tickets left.

In the endzone.....

Section 5 has approximately 450 tickets left.

Section 3 has approximately 350 tickets left.

AND THAT IS IT...... Really cool to see this on a map now

I think Section U probably has about 2,000 seats as there are 18 side line sections plus a few end zone sections also. What does their stadium hold ? 45,000 ? The question is are all our seats in U or not ? Seems like SMU would try to get some more tickets at this point from Baylor or somebody instead of announcing to fans that they are "Sold Out" limiting the amount of SMU fans that now will come to this important National TV game where SMU fans need to show support for this team... However, it is still amazing how SMU has done their lack of marketing forever. Hope Rick Hart can do something about this lack of effort in the near future. I know they are working at trying, which is a step in the right direction I guess.

fwiw...I read on baylorfans.com that the UT/Baylor game supposedly didn't sell out because Art Briles didn't want to untarp a big section of endzone stands because he knew they'd be completely filled with UT fans or it would have sold out.

We sold out the 46,000 seats other than that end zone. We could easily have reached 50 with more UT fans but why bother helping the opponent?

the same guy that analyzed Ticket Sales said there were 21,000 in each granstand and 4,000 in each endzone but one has a tarp (which wasn't removed for UT game last year due to fear of increasing UT attendance). So capacity is probably 46,000 with the tarp-50,000 without it. Maybe the extra 1,700 or so for UT was for Box Seating or something

Stadium total: 50,000
Each End Zone: 4,000
Each Grandstand: 21,000

You can divide the grandstands into 10 sections roughly. 9 full ones and then 2 sections on each end that combined equal a tenth section. 2,100 per full section.

I went online to the Baylor site and purchased 8 tickets in section T, on the aisle by section U. There are seats in section T, from row 15 down. If you want tickets go online and purchase them. Adults $30 and youth (2-17) $20. You can pick your seats.
