Gilbert pleased to be back in saddle as Mustangs' QB

All Garrett Gilbert hoped for was another chance to play football.
There were some rough moments last fall when Gilbert was recovering from shoulder surgery. Several weeks earlier, he was granted his release by Texas after playing parts of three seasons with the Longhorns.
But even in his darkest periods of doubt, the former No. 1 national quarterback recruit never lost faith he would resume his career.
