First play against Baylor?

Post by Pony4Life »

Conservative handoff to Zach Line, or a deep strike to Der'Rikk Thompson?

Deep strike to Der'Rikk Thompson......June is going to send a message that Gilbert is ready to play.

I'm totally on board with that ... except there hopefully won't be a need for a second one until the second drive!

Zach Line first play. Bomb on second play up the middle of the field for DJ.

Kick the ball or return the ball. One or the other.

I agree. Get a first down or two by running the ball.

I'll go with this. Empirical evidence has shown that a kickoff to the other team is most frequently the first play.

I'm all for running Zach early. Can't start the game with a 3 and out. Wouldn't be opposed to seeing Gilbert on a designed draw early either to expose the middle of Baylor's defense and loosen him up a little bit. Hopefully he's learned how to slide.

When we get the ball I think our first play will be a short pass to get the QB a completion.

So do I, but I think it will be a toss to Line who hands off to Holman on an end-around, and Holman then throws the completion TO Gilbert.

Bears will never know what hit 'em.
