Stop It

Post by ojaipony »

We have the worst effing fans I've ever seen. Fire June Jones?!? Are you KIDDING me? This loss sucked and our recruiting has GOT to step up, but some of you guys are nuts.

We lost. To a better team. Outside our conference. Get over it. Move on.

Bottom line ... We are very weak in our secondary (don't know if it's Odum/coaching and/or recruiting or what). We made many mistakes early (over eager offsides/dropped balls, etc). There were several terrible calls and several terrible missed calls. None of these things have anything to do with June Jones. I'm sick of hearing it. A bunch of knee jerk/over-reacting idiots. Name who you'd hire whose better. Quit whining and support the team.

It isn't the first time we started 0-1 in a season. The difference is we have started poorly for over a generation but ended strong the last 3 years. And we sold out one bowl and traveled well to another. So we get a bit more attractive post season. Now have great crowds, win our home games (we only have 7 of the next 11 at home) and we have another fine season. It took Jones a decade to get Hawaii to the next level. Lets give him sometime. This was bad like A$M last year. Beat A$M this year or TCU and we are having euphoria again.

No, we have the best alumni base that loves SMU---which Jones does not. The team is the responsibility of the coach so it has everything to do with Jones. Right or wrong-these are kids and they feed off the energy, or lack of, generated by the adults. Again, that would be Jones. We have seen a lack of affinity for the school from Jones. Thanks for the three seasons that got bowls, but time to move along June. The fans want what is best for the university and our team---wish we had a coach that felt the same way.
It makes sense to me.

Last I checked June was the one in charge of the program so everything falls back on him. I want him gone but I doubt the decisions makers have the balls to fire him and I don't know if another program will come along to steal him away. If you don't want to hear whining then I'd suggest not being on the board for a few days.

June Jones' teams have been unprepared week 1 every single year he's been here (i don't know about hawaii). We come out looking flat and clueless time and time again. Let's hope for a big boost week 2 so that we can get on track and put up effort against a&m. we're in trouble and we'll almost certainly be 1-3 unless something drastic changes.

WHY do you want him fired? Give me STATS. You can't. Since 1986, name someone who was better at this school. It's not even freakin close. Go back to the Johnny Walker and get off the internet.

You guys are idiots. I'm sorry, but I'm done with it. Again, NAME who you'd replace him with? Oh, that's right, you can't. Because all you know how to do is complain.

I feel I've (we've) been very tolerant of JJ and have given him the benefit of the doubt but he is a supposed "guru" of offense and our boys were not prepared at all for tonight's game. He has had plenty of time to recruit, teach, and coach the players to get them ready to play. Yes, I'm thankful and glad we have gone to 3 bowl games during his tenure, but I have serious doubts about this season. Hopefully, I'm wrong but June Jones needs to get his stuff together and actually EARN his pay. IMO there's no such thing as a game that's not a must win..............every game is a must win if you're competitive. I would be deeply concerned if our fans were happy or accepting of such a horrible performance from our coaches and team.

June was 4-5 in openers at Hawaii including 2 losses to FCS teams.

June is also the only coach that has not had the recruiting restrictions like the others had per June own words. Ask the AD who we would replace him with because a good AD should always have a short list. I am not saying I want him fired but June did not have the handcuffs of the other coaches so he had a better opportunity to succeed. We will see what happens in the ATM and TCU games as to the progress of the team. Any fan should be concerned after viewing this game IMO.

I totally agree. The writing was on the wall early in the first quarter. These type of games are common in college football. Things can snowball really fast, especially when the referees are also your enemy. This could have easily been a 14-10 game at halftime. Unfortunately, 21-3 happened and the rout was on.

I predict this team will bounce back in a big way. Consider this game a wake up call. Things happen for a reason. I'm behind June Jones 100 percent. PERIOD.

I definitely have concerns. But not at HD. If anything, our defensive backs coach needs to be on the hot seat (although Baylor made/will make many secondaries look bad).
