Is it basketball season yet?

While it's obvious that our basketball team will not be torching CUSA this year, the fact there's actual progress being made in recruiting in that front (SMU being a top 3 finalist for two of the hottest commodities, and beating out UNC, Kansas, Louisville, Duke, etc, on other recruits) at least gives you hope of what is possible with a competent coaching staff.
Our football program is desperate for change. It is amazing to me that after that awesome Hawaii Bowl win we've had frustrating performances against UCF in a conference championship game, a no-show performance against Army in a bowl game, pathetic showing against A&M last year (and today), etc. We had a up-trending trajectory a few years ago, but at this point I don't see why we should expect us to be able to even compete in the top half of our Big East division going forward. Will we see a coaching change within the season? I hope so. This complacency (and don't get me started on our recruiting) is infuriating.
