I was at the Plano Walmart at Park Blvd and the Tollway last night. At the checkout counter they had college team candy bars. I see the big schools like Texas A&M, Texas, Ohlahoma. Of course I was not surprised that S.M.U. was missing in action, but how is it that North Texas can pull it off, but we can't? Yes, there sits a North Texas candy bar next to the big schools, but no S.M.U.
At this time, Russell Stover hasn't submitted a request for SMU. I would approve it... I've asked CLC to look into this. Keep 'em coming and tell the store manager you want SMU! Thanks guys. #PonyUp
with as much kindness as i can muster....there is the problem....are we sitting around waiting for national chains, local retailers, etc. to come begging...or,are we out selling.....there is an interesting message in the previous comment from sid....i guess reacting is better than not acting at all.
I'm pretty sure the exposure a candy bar gives SMU pales in comparison to say, TV, better conferences, billboards, radio, etc.
Perhaps we should parter with these guys in order to be seen in your local Walmart.
For what it's worth, I have seen more SMU gear around town in the last few weeks than I can remember seeing before. Tom Thumb, CVS, Albertson's, [deleted]'s Sporting Goods and a gas station (can't remember which one) all had SMU gear.
Between the signs and billboards, signs in people's yards and now the expanded visibility in stores, someone is helping SMU take a major step in the right direction, if you ask me.

I've tried tweeting all these similar issues of nobody carrying us, and the stores always blame SMU for having strict licensing agreement which SMU will of course say no and it goes back forth. Telling the tore manager has worked for me 0/14 times... The thing is we need to make our percentage as low as possible so places can take the risk at possible low demand then if it became popular increase the licensing fees. We just need to have competitive prices, but telling store managers have yet to work for me and most the time I go back to the same store and same manager and they won't even recognize me....
