JJ POST GAME

Post by OR-See-Nee »

From his conference with Rich:

Screwups in first half hurt us.

Disappointed.

GG must play better. But he competed.

Unfortunate we didn't win the game.

I'll have to look at film. The guys who were in there did a good job.

I'll tell the players that I'm proud of them. Tough to win on the road.

Good to have a game on Thursday to get this out of the memory banks.

of course he is disappointed...he knows this game was critical if this team was going to have any chance for a winning season and another consolation bowl game

who cares what he says after the game. I don't even know why they bother having interviews with him. It's just generic coach speak. Doesn't make a soul feel any better or worse.

"This loss was on me. Our guys played their hearts out. I didn't prepare them enough early emotionally and we came out flat. I made a few really bad play calls out there and we should have gone for it on 4th down on the goal line. Zach played incredibly and had their defense on the ropes. Even if we don't get it in, I have confidence the way our defense was playing and bringing pressure. I told the same to my guys just now. They are heart broken but resilient. Now we have to let it go and move on to Houston where I will step up my game. A win there will wash the bad taste out of our mouths that this one has put in it."

Oh, wait.

He didn't say that?

That's right he didn't because that's what a LEADER would say. You know, someone who had some pride.
