Should read "Should June be given another game?"
Re: Should June be given another year?
JJ shouldn't be given another year, but he will be given another year. Don't see SMU or the COC buying out the 2 year extension at $2 million a year. Use ex-SMU basketball coach, Matt Doherty, as an example. He was given 6 years, when in reality, he should have been fired after his 4th year.
Next year JJ will have 1 year left on his contract extension. If SMU or the COC don't publically announce they have extended his contract beyond the following year. Then there should be a mutual agreement that SMU and JJ have parted ways. Can't have a "dead coach walking," or else no high school players will commit to SMU.
Personally, I hope JJ announces his retirement after this season.

If June is here next year.... hell it's almost worth playing the lottery for the sake of winning and paying out his contract to get him out.

I will give Jones one more year. Let's make it 2019 after some other coach has us back on track.

Please forgive me for I don't mean this to sound as rude as it may. WHY are you giving Jones another year? For the past two years he has been nothing but scornful of SMU and it has filtered down to the mood of the team. My fear is the lack of positive messages he is sending the team and students. If we follow his example as a representative of the university it is ok: 1. to be uninspired to do a job, you still get paid big bucks; 2. to let your attitude influence the whole team to lack luster performance; 3. dis the fans that are in attendance, band and alumni; 4. blame everyone and everything and not be accountable for your actions. Actions speak louder than words. Is this the message we want to send our students that our university condones? Why do we want them to be losers?

Hopefully the 6 people that voted yes think so.
