Really sorry. I'll be sure to hit up the Barley House if I ever need to catch an away game.

Don't back down, the only way people understand that fans are upset is to make a big jaw drop of only 500 people showing up to the "big" game (slaughter). If we all continue to come in our usual numbers, then might as well expect loses to Tulane or at best beating teams like TulaneDutch wrote:Lighten up guys. Its meant to be humorous. Coming on an SMU fans site and promoting the idea of leaving ... to put money in your pocket by buying drinks? Uncool to the operators of this site and to the university you claim to support.

Re: Official 2nd Half watch party
I think this is the time to get behind the team. Show support for the kids and let's see if they can improve the execution of the game-plan. We still have half the season. To behave like there is no chance of success is to show the kids we don't believe in their ability. Once the season is in the books, then we can see where we are. But no-one is helped by fans not showing up on Thursday. An it's not going to affect June Jone's job. But like I say, I think the kids are more important than that anyway.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Don't back down, the only way people understand that fans are upset is to make a big jaw drop of only 500 people showing up to the "big" game (slaughter). Maybe I'm just trying to keep people from going because I'm bitter that I won't be able to go... Grr stupid job stupid Thursday night game if only it could have been on a Friday I would have been able to fly in timeMustangsabu wrote:I think this is the time to get behind the team. Re: Official 2nd Half watch party
I would add that we haven't had any problems not showing up to games. That's not going to change tonight. Players admitted the lack of fan support at 4-1 last year led to decreased motivation. It's gotta be hard to have elevated a program only to have fans obsess about firing your coach and play in an empty stadium...Mustangsabu wrote:I think this is the time to get behind the team. I am tired of the "players lost motivation" due to lack of people in stands. The is a bunch of crap from Jones. He is the one who put the team in the funk and keeps them there with his attitude. If the players aren't motivated because of lack of fans--maybe they better consider the scholarships for a first class education and find reason to be motivated. They are not motivated--maybe scholarships should start being pulled for those that don't feel motivated to play. This all boils down to Jones' attitude that everything is everybody elses fault or problem and it filtering to the players. Those unmotivated players need to go to Z.Line's twitter and see his byline. Go Mustangs that want to play and are proud to play win or lose!

Re: Official 2nd Half watch party
explain to me how that is uncool to the operators of this site please? it's a fan FORUM, not a PR arm of the Athletic department. Or is it?Vitale wrote:Coming on an SMU fans site and promoting the idea of leaving ... to put money in your pocket by buying drinks? as far as my "claim to support" SMU, i don't claim it. I DO IT. now maybe my definition of support is different from yours, so what do you mean by support? money? or the good old fashion "awe shucks you guys can do it" type?
i doubt i'll get an answer out of you since you only show your head around here once in a blue moon.
