Announced attendance. I pray for a consistently full Ford one day.

There is no way there was that many people. On tv it looked like maybe 5000, maybe

Looks like the new marketing group is doing great things.

Not 16 but not 5. Who would have expected a big crowd on a Thursday night after a terrible loss. Marketing does not overcome that.

UofH brought a decent turnout; the west side of Ford was populated OK, could have made the 16k. How about the club up on level 3? Does that count in the figures?

Re: 16,459
It was a damn nice crowd for a Thursday night game on top of being the first game following that debacle in New Orleans 5 days earlier. Home team side doesn't get much TV coverage.
School night for families with school age kids, so by fourth quarter quite a few had left, but they were there for the start of the game.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Looked solid before halftime in the lower sections. Upper level was sparse on east side and even more so in the end zone.

Re: 16,459
Honestly, there were more there than I originally expected. The west side filled in pretty well.
Re: 16,459
I think that sounds about right.
Re: 16,459
Embarrassingly bad, but we should all be used to that by now. Face it, our "fan base" sucks as 80% of them are casual observers at best.
Solid stream of losers heading for the gates at halftime despite it being anyone's game at that point. The fact is most SMU "fans" treat games like minor league baseball...a distraction that is easy to walk away from and forget.
I wish I had the answer...aside from winning games and getting the bandwagon fans rolling in, I have no idea what to do to fix it at this point.
