Another fun fact..
72 points, most allowed in Houston's school history.
Was 66 points by UCLA (1997) and Louisville (2003) until last night.

Old age and a memory (not to mention physique) of an elephant. Wasnt around quite that long ago, but I have heard that fact mentioned by broadcasters two or three times during my life.Rebel10 wrote:But does Cumberland even play football anymore? I did a book report, I believe in 6th grade on the Cumberland game. No first downs for either team. GT scored on every play they ran and Cumberland never made one. Not sure if you are credited with a first down when you score now but apparently were not then.
And yes, it was played before I was in 6th grade, and yes the reason I chose that book is that it was the thinnest in the library.

Re: Another fun fact..
Cumberland didnt actually play football that year. They had disbanded the football team after the previous season, John Heisman forced them to honor the contract in response to a thrashing that Cumberland put on their baseball team 22-0 (Heisman was the baseball coach as well, they also though Cumberland used some non-college professionals as well).Rebel10 wrote:But does Cumberland even play football anymore?
