72 points = a disaster for June apologists

Post by couch 'em »

The pro June crowd that fails to recognize that the crushing victory is due to our D and their injured QBs, not some magic "click" in the offense.

When the offense struggles going forward the D will not be able to bail out the O every time. Each loss will seem worse now that the pro-June types think the offense has turned the corner and think we have the spread and depth of talent needed.

If not for our D getting unusual turnover numbers we lose to SFA and UH. They can do it every game, and as Tulane showed, when you can't so it you struggle against even the most pathetic teams.

The O did look better, though. Not great, but better than what it had been.

But we need to improve in all facets of the game or else we are going to have some shocking losses as the season goes on

Harp, harp, harp. Can't you be happy for the kids and accept a great win (first in 5 years over UH). I cheer for the TEAM, not the coach, on here and at the game.

This all-positive garbage is what kept us in the dump for so long.

Just tell Copeland how happy you are to watch Bennett beat up Rice every other year.

Hope we win out this yr. but that doesn't change the lack of good recruiting. We saw how we stack up against BCS teams when we played baylor, aTm and tc-who and those are the type of teams we will be playing next yr.

So 72 points is a disaster? I assume we would all agree 0 points is a disaster. Is there any amount of points in between 0 and 72 you would not consider a disaster? What is the magic number?

dumb post. I am going to enjoy this win, beat Memphis and see what happens. Gilbert is getting a tad better and it will help playing a terrible team next week. Yes, I am still t i c ke d off about Tulane but that is over with. Offense still isn't good - but getting a little better. With a little red zone and luck, we could be 4-3 or 5-2 (1st and goal at 2).

Nobody said the offense scored 72 points.

It was SMU that scored 72 points ... and beat the crap out of a team I f-ing hate.

I'm happy for JJ, every assistant on his staff and every player on the roster.

$100? That cheapskate.

SMU has demonstrated signs of life. Knowing what this team can accomplish, a repeat of Tulane is entirely unacceptable. And in the event of such a loss, it falls on the coaching staff for not properly preparing the players.
