Preston in person

Post by expony18 »

Saw CP at jakes on Henderson today... Not impressed by the hobo look, but more importantly the lack of size. He does not look like a d1 qb, that being said I want to see him get some pt.

Didnt really understand all the ppl losing faith in GG after just 3 games against BCS opponents. Preston is tiny and has never started a game... we woulda been in the same situation. You cant call for someone's head after just 3 games

JJ recruited him because he was a Rivals 3 Star QB in high school. His win/loss record was something like 35-1 in high school.

He is not prototype size, but taller than Brees. Really struggled early in camp, but played much better as camp went on. Still a redshirt frosh. The players love him, good kid.

Correction: All his WRs were 5 stars. Well 2 of them were. A third Marquise Lee was a 6.0 4 star which is basically the same thing

Of course, we don't know whether or not Preston is capable in a game until he gets some real playing time.

Not as tall as Brees but he is a very solid young man.

from what little film I saw on Preston, he looked like a guy who could move around in the pocket to dind throwing lanes and that helped offset his size...but again, he had a buch of stud receivers who would compete for the ball any time he threw it up

I saw CP play in CA. All comments are true. He had stud receivers, but CP also made some good passes. Many passesof were on target to allow the WRs to make big plays. I saw that the main reason he was overlooked was because of his size. However, I was still glad SMU got him. I think he has plenty of the base tools to be a solid QB.
