Talk me off the ledge...

Post by SMU2007 »

Can we get some silver lining awards around here?

Horrible football season. June seems more checked out than ever. Our recruiting looks like crap. We look totally unprepared in almost every game. We got annihilated by Rice. June may have to stick around as our coach for another entire year due to contract/money issues. Hart/RGT apparently don't really care about making a change. We are losing most of our playmakers next year. I fear this thing gets worse before it gets better...

Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm watching Ken Burns' Dust Bowl on PBS. It could be worse

Given the state of our economy, our current debt and looming obligations, and the inability of our leaders to honestly address it, trust me, it will get worse.

The issues will be resolved-the real issue is whether the stock market crashes before the issues are resolved

We could be Penn State, with a 4-year bowl ban and scholarship restrictions out the [deleted] for the next four years.

ECM this isn't me bashing. I think penn state got off super easy. Why? Because they are playing and winning right now. They are a state school and still have support behind their team (unlike us who lost everything because people had a fit that if everyone is going to cheat, well we wanted to be the best). They are only losing one year worth of revenue. Big deal. They deserved the 4 year DP that was on the table, and no less than a 2 year dp but no. NCAA caved and now short of coaches with machine guns mowing people down, the death penalty will never be used. So I reiterate penn state got off easy

Sort this list by date, and look at the recruits PSU has signed since the sanctions were handed down in late July:

I'd be surprised if Bill O'Brien sticks around there much longer. I think with the success he's had not only at PSU but in the NFL, he'll be mentioned for some big jobs

PSU is about to be the whipping boy of the Big Ten. It will get ugly.

No I get it they will have maybe what 4-5 rough years, maybe. They're still in a BCS conference, they still have support. They still make gameday tickets. They are going to be relevant. Remember they're in the big 10 which really besides a few teams, they're not doomed. Probably 4-8 to 6-6 seasons.

only problem is that it most likely won't be the 'big boys' table - we will likely be relegated to the little kids table.
