What can go wrong at SMU...will go wrong.
Beat Tulsa
Hawaii Bowl or Dallas Bowl bid.
C of C (and or RT or AD) won't pull the trigger.

I'm sorry, but I can't bring myself to root against my alma mater; the future repercussions be damned. Guys like Zach Line, Margus, and Ja'Gared (to name just a few) have played their butts off here and deserve a bowl game, even if the coaching staff doesn't.

ECM - you appear to be a nice guy (weren't you Ford to Tolbert)..anyway...you don't read between the lines. I will never root against SMU, but the geldings law prevails...In other words, what I want to see is us win, go to a bowl, and the one with the lei and geldings gone. However, the geldings law is..we win, go to a bowl, and JJ stays..

I think (and hope) this is JJ's last year regardless. I think he's mailed it in and will retire after the season. I could be wrong, and I've been wrong before, but he'll turn 60 this February, and I don't think he wants to ruin his legacy and get embarrassed in the BE next year, and he's smart enough to see the walls are crumbling on his tenure here.

Also, I was not Ford to Tolbert.

This ^^
A PonyFan NEVER roots against his team.
We owe it to the seniors to get to the game ON TIME AND STAY UNTIL THE FINISH, win or lose ... maybe especially if we lose, so we can thank what has been an exceptional class of seniors.
Do not ruin their final seasons with petty whining about stuff that isn't going to be changed through a message board.

Perfect scenario:
Beat Tulsa
Go to a bowl and beat that team
The Great Lei retires on top with his and our reputation in good shape.
Win-win-win.

I must be missing something: How are you an "unbias [sic]" observer? Your handle is SMU_Alumni11 (which apparently means you are more than one person), and you have Ford Stadium as your avatar. Please explain.

6-6 doesn't deserve a bowl bid. Never has never will.

Win-win-win.
And Gary Patterson leaves TCU for another job.
Win-Win-Win-Win.

Speaking of geldings, we were walking back to the BLVD after the mMemphis game and saw a horse trailer with OSU stickers on it. Maybe we should wear orange for our last home game.
