The real question now is... Tulsa or East Carolina?

The real question eventually is does the Big 12 finish the ACC off by getting Florida St, and Clemson and maybe others to form a Northeast Division

yeah it's an expanded version of what I see eventually happening. I have always thought that either the Big 12 or ACC would not survive as a BCS power conference-but more likely as a BE lite conference. 4 x 16 not 5 x 16. Eventually

I think the Big East will just invite BYU and have Navy join now make it 12 teams. Tulsa is a formidable opponent, but ECU I dont see the point. I guess the can get lumped in if need be. I rather the Big East focus on adding the two schools I mention in the former.

i really dont understand the appeal of the big 10 for Maryland. If i was a maryland alumn i would be pissed. They are trading years of tradition and regional rivalries with schools that are pretty much like them, for a bunch a beat downs in places you dont want to visit, with gross people.
This feels like retaliation for ND to me - since the Big 10 thought they would eventually get them in all sports.
The golden goose is getting slayed. When will it end?

They read the writing on the wall. The future of the ACC is to be a target for bigger conferences, and the replacements will come out of the Big East. They got out while they could, and will be assured of a spot in a big conference going forward.gostangs wrote:i really dont understand the appeal of the big 10 for Maryland. BYU didn't want in when we still had Rutgers and UConn (or Louisville), they wont want in now.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:I think the Big East will just invite BYU and have Navy join now make it 12 teams. Where else are they going to go? How well is Independence working out for them? Like someone mentioned, these 9 game conf schedules are going to greatly reduce the number of OOC slots. The WAC is in flames, the MWC is bleeding members to the Big East, and the Pac-12 doesn't want them. Their only other option is the Big 12.Comet wrote:BYU didn't want in when we still had Rutgers and UConn (or Louisville), they wont want in now.SMU_Alumni11 wrote:I think the Big East will just invite BYU and have Navy join now make it 12 teams. That maybe true, but they might not have a choice trying to remain independent. They will be stuck in irrelevancy if they are trying to play the ND card
