New Orleans Bowl Please
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has accepted a bid to the the New Orleans Bowl this year. Last year 50,000 of their fans showed up....ALL WEARING RED. Perhaps if we go to the New Orleans Bowl, the nation will be unable to see who out of the 50,000 are from Dallas and who are from Lafayette. Might confuse the nation into thinking we actually travel. Hence, New Orleans Bowl is a better decision for the program in my opinion.....

Don't make your reservations. Sounds like the perfect bowl to invite Rice-short drive for their small fanbase

NOLA is a great place to visit for fans and players. I just don't know about how excited our kids will be about NOLA.
I played there several times (HS and college) and it was always a wonder land for someone seeing it for the first time. Great zoo, FrenchQuarter unbelievable food, very active night life, incredible music and just a few minutes from the River Road and antebellum plantations. Not sure any of that will interested the kids except maybe the plantation tours.
And playing a southLA school and partying with their fans would be something to look forward to.

That's funny on the red comparison. Would be tough to play a La school in NOLA....crowd would be tough on us to say the least.Johnny Utah wrote:The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has accepted a bid to the the New Orleans Bowl this year. We've already played in New Orleans once this year. That's enough for me.

Re: New Orleans Bowl Please
I looked at several prediction sites and got three different predicitons.
CBS has us going to NOLA
Phil Steele has us going to Ft. Worth
And Scout has us going to Hawaii.
I think things are bit in flux until the CUSA championship game. If Tulsa wins CUSA, then they would go to the Dallas Bowl. We'd probably end up in Ft. Worth. If UCF wins CUSA, they go to Dallas, Tulsa to Ft. Worth and we go to Hawaii. I agree that Rice probably ends up in NOLA. Is UH bowl eligible?

UH isn't bowl eligible this year. Currently its UCF, Tulsa, ECU, SMU and Rice from CUSA.

No, they finished 5-7.EastStang wrote:Is UH bowl eligible?
Only bowl eligible teams in CUSA are UCF, ECU, Tulsa, SMU and Rice.
Re: New Orleans Bowl Please
CUSA Winner goes to Liberty Bowl. If it is Tulsa, then we probably head to Armed Forces Bowl. If it is UCF, Tulsa goes to Armed Forces Bowl.EastStang wrote:I looked at several prediction sites and got three different predicitons.

Really hope that Tulsa wins CUSA title game so that we go to Armed Forces Bowl against AFA.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I hope that works out better than our Armed Forces Bowl appearance versus Army.StallionsModelT wrote:Really hope that Tulsa wins CUSA title game so that we go to Armed Forces Bowl against AFA.

Re: New Orleans Bowl Please
I just want to be able to attend the game. I can go to FW. Can't make it to Hawaii on Christmas Eve. Selfish reasons.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: New Orleans Bowl Please
I hope UCF wins CUSA title, Tulsa goes to Hawaii or Armed Forces Bowl, Rice goes to Hawaii or Armed Forces Bowl and we end up in New Orleans Bowl or arrange a trade to another bowl game such as Independence Bowl or Dallas Bowl, etc. I would rather go to a bowl we have not been to.StallionsModelT wrote:Really hope that Tulsa wins CUSA title game so that we go to Armed Forces Bowl against AFA.
