is a few photos from twitter. We should have taken up a collection to send PonyPride and his camera to Hawaii and gotten some real team coverage.
Sorry about the pics being too large.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

That's what I am thinking... And all the SMU staff can enjoy it as well like rickhart and others... While we sit at home contemplating whether to bother ourselves watching this game
My god stop all the whining and just back our players. They do not pick the bowl, so regardless of how you feel, if you are a SMU fan you need to be watching and supporting these fine young men. Lets go mustangs!

Exactly. I wonder how many of those complaining actually traveled to the bowl game last year?

Oh god that's like when people used to ramble on about supporting the troops when anyone would question Bush.
Everyone on here supports the players. You're fighting a straw man on that front. We don't like June.
I was disappointed that I would not be able to attend the bowl game after seeing the price of airfare, but now I am glad that the team is playing in Hawaii. I saved on airfare, hotel, and tickets by not attending the bowl game this year. PonyUp, life is good!
Actually, the only point I was trying to make is that it would be nice if someone was reporting on what the team was doing this week with some photos to let us join in with the fun. I mean, twitter is rather limited in its ability to tell a story.

No kidding. The players don't pick the bowls, but they're excited to be there. Hopefully, that will help them beat what looks like a damn good Fresno State team.

If you look at this game simply as a nice big reward for the players accomplishing 4 straight bowl games you won't be so angry.
It is the Holiday Season, give it a try.
Oops, did I mention Holiday, as in Holiday Bowl, now THAT will make me angry
We had a certain 'uniform' we had to wear for official events. Nice jeans, polo shirt and a red sweater. Both sweater and shirt had the mustang on it. So we were neat in appearance while still being fashionable without being too formal. That was Meyer's style. Good to see the players can be relaxed in their appearance and have SMU shirts and rings on. Wonder where he got that ring? Couldn't be from the first bowl game in 30 years or soSMU went to a few years back. Looks good and successful.
Funny. I don't remember JJ ever saying the "fans don't matter." When it became apparent we were headed to Hawaii, he made a lot of comments about how the team was excited, it could be looked at as a "reward" (I think that's the word he used) for the team. But I don't remember him ever saying the fans don't matter. Can anyone provide a link?
Once it was clear that we weren't going to the C-USA championship game or the Liberty Bowl, selling the Hawaii experience as a reward for the seniors in their fourth straight bowl sounds pretty valid.
