Anyone else watching the Vikings-Packers game with a little trepidation? Adrian Peterson only needs 147 yards now to break it.

No. Same number.

Both ED and AP (and everyone else who has surpassed that threshold) got two extra games over OJ Simpson's 2000 yard season.

I think Eric was about the greatest ever, but the 2K yard season by OJ, in just 14 games, is the best season ever by a runner.

It will be like a close election that has a recount. The stats guys will go back through the game and see if they can find an extra 9 yards. They will say he only lost 3 yards on that play instead of 4 or he actual made 8 yards on that carry instead of 7. I will not feel comfortable until they name it official.

I think OJ has the highest "per game" averge over an entire season and I think Jim Brown may actually be in 2nd place (played when they only played 12 games)

Bottom line...ED still sits at the top of the list for highest single season rushing yardage
