Tennessee's debt exceeds $200 million
Perhaps BCS revenue does not ensure financial success? U. of Tennessee is struggling with debt and mistakes in hiring, not counting the one year tenure of Kiffin.
Dave Hart (Rick's Dad), Tennessee's athletic director, pretty well sums it up with this quote: "We've got to get football healthy."

All kidding aside I think they were better off keeping the Fred Thompson look alike as HC in the first place

That UT has had a policy that the athletic department was required to give $6M a year back to the school - many were questioning if they were killing the golden goose. Dave Hart has made both friends and enemies by publicly criticizing the admin, telling them to keep their hands out of the athletic department coffers. The admins meddling, the inept AD who made horrible hires, and their on the field performance has hurt them.

Mr. Harts job might be up soon.

Actually, falling attendance and decreasing ST sales are two of their problems.Stallion wrote:and they fill a 100,000 seat stadium

Attendance is still pretty high. Its a custom and culture down there. Folks from all over the state load up their RV's and head to Knoxville. Its a pretty impressive tent city down there. And even if they don't sell a few season tickets, there's always a stray Alabama fan, Auburn fan, or Florida fan ready to pounce on a ticket.
