SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

She's a Texas alumnus but that's forgiven in this case...I've seen quite a few other pics of her with the hat on as well, including back from Cowboys camp last fall.
I knew Jane back in HS (Rowlett, class of '99)...it's great to see her in a "dream" job like that but even better to see her with an SMU cap on!
