Projecting Starters - DLine

Post by ojaipony »

This is the biggest question mark on the entire roster IMHO. What do you guys think?

DE - HWSNBN
NT - Wright
DE - Cameron Smith?

I say we can rotate almost 3 deep here which will keep us fresh. We are wide (lots of bodies) but not very deep (tons of talent).

How about 3 deep?

DE - HWSNBN / Barnes / Wood
NT - Wright / Reed / Minor
DE - Smith / Spencer / McCleneghen

I have no idea.

2 Deep Prediction At Beginning of Season

DE-Barnes/Minor
NT-Wright/Reed
DE-Holloway/Wood

Wild Card is HWSNBN, who would bump Holloway back and have Wood take the 2 spot behind Barnes so so Minor can redshirt.

I don't see Cameron Smith as an every down DE in the 3/4 due to his size. Probably will be used in passing situations.

Barnes played pretty well last year. I think he'll be on the field a lot, if he doesn't start.

It's Holloway, Ojaipony's lovechild. Who will not be starting at end.

Tanner Rice was moved to running back, wasn't he?

My guesses:

Barnes / Minor / Conley
Wright / Reed / Hollie
Wood / McCleneghen / Smith

Minor will start by 5th game-somewhere. I seriously doubt SMU puts a 6-5 kid like Hollie at NG which a position requiring leverage
