Alabama football program appears to be headed for a storm
We'll see if this is actually true. Reference to SMU DP as to the potential severity. Source is very questionable so likely untrue but I saw it on another rivals team site.
Alabama football program appears to be headed for a storm.
2/2/13: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Three National Championships in four years, an assembly line of NFL talent, domination in perhaps the toughest conference in the history of college football. And all without a blemish. In an era where we see even perrenial powerhouses Ohio State and USC succumb to the perils of NCAA Violations and sanctions, Nick Saban has built a powerhouse among the best in the history of the game without falling to these perils… or has he?
In a report expected to be released in full on Friday, a list of recruiting violations said to rival those of the SMU football program of the 1980s… the only team in the history of college athletics to receive the death penalty…. from which they still have not recovered fully… is expected. Only excerpts have leaked thus far, but it’s enough to indicate that troubled waters lie ahead in Tuscaloosa. No statement has been made by the University or head coach Nick Saban to date; expectations are that they will wait until after the press conference.

wait. They aren't even under investigation yet are they?-first comes Letter of Inquiry-then a long investigation process and then notice of violations and then due process procedures/hearings. Is this being reported elsewhere and what is this source. Somethings fishy about a report to be released already-unless I missed the prior institution of NCAA investigation. But most every National contender in recent history has been placed on probation or soon will be so it wouldn't surprise me eventually. But this sounds kind of like something your opponent puts out right before signing date

Didn't see anything about it on ESPN.....just the article about the 4 freshmen players who were arrested that Saban has suspended.

Incidentally, whatever happened to the "storms" that were going to engulf Miami and Ohio State (which just completed a successfull recruiting year) ?

Note: published February 2, 2013- 4 days before NCAA signing date-this is a likely a Tennessee booster publishing a hoax

They just suspended Miami's investigation-they will get busted. They know it. Note they self imposed 15 scholarship limit this year and have already self imposed 2 year bowl ban. Ohio St. investigation was never much of anything. There have been 100s of investigations involving more cheating than kids on campus getting paid for tatoos and a few 3 and 4 digit xtras by a local fan

The author byline has the date as February 12, 2013. This seems to be a blog and once again as OP stated, dubious source.Stallion wrote:Note: published February 2, 2013- 4 days before NCAA signing date-this is a likely a Tennessee booster publishing a hoax

This might be fake.
Re: Alabama football program appears to be headed for a stor
Wake me up when Alabama gets punished for anything. Are they cheating? Probably. Will they get whacked by the NCAA for cheating? Not unless they have a check signed by Nick Saban or cash in an envelope with Nick Saban's initials on it.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Re: Alabama football program appears to be headed for a stor
It says that "a report expected to be released in full on Friday." If the blog was published on Feb. 2, then all hell was supposed to be released last Friday, which it obviously wasn't. Total BS
