Notified about Baylor being dropped and Montana State being added....
At least they offered a $15 credit to people who have already repurchased their season tickets.
Disappointed we aren't playing Baylor, but then again it may help to have one FCS game....

Re: Rick Hart E-mail
In today’s collegiate athletics landscape, conference affiliations, schedules and opponents are ever-changing. Today we are announcing a change in our 2013 Mustang Football nonconference lineup. We will not be playing our home contest with Baylor University in 2013. We are instead announcing a home game with Montana State on September 7, 2013.
While this is a rivalry that both schools value, we decided it would be best if we did not play the game this season. This was not an easy decision and was made only after careful deliberation. With three Big 12 games and one SEC matchup on our nonconference schedule, and an upgraded conference schedule as we join the BIG EAST, we felt we needed to bring some balance to our 2013 schedule. This decision does not, however, impact our long-term agreement. We will play at Baylor in 2014 when they open their new stadium and have them scheduled for annual games for several years to come.
While we will still host Texas Tech at Ford Stadium in 2013, in addition to our BIG EAST home schedule, we recognize that this change occurred after some of our season ticket holders had purchased tickets which included a different slate of games. As a result, we felt it was important to notify you of this change directly and offer a credit of $15 per season ticket, which represents the difference in price for the Baylor game. This credit will be applied to your account and may be used for ticket purchases for any 2013-2014 regular season home games in any ticketed sport at SMU (based upon availability).

Did you pencil this game in as a win?PonySnob wrote:1-3 is better than 0-4 to start the year......

Hell of a lot more likely but no guarantees. At 0-4, I think this board would explode from the b !tch festPeruna_Ate_My_Rolex wrote:Did you pencil this game in as a win?PonySnob wrote:1-3 is better than 0-4 to start the year......

Yes, it is more likely but then again we all thought Tulane was a likely win too.GiddyUp wrote:Hell of a lot more likely but no guarantees. If we lose to Montana State I propose we all storm June's postgame press conference with hastily sharpened weapons

1) I'm pissed mostly b/c I was able to schedule our annual fall vaca around our FB schedule this season, and now this change will cause me to miss a home game.
2) I'd rather take our chances with the big boys
3) if we need to "add a win" to the schedule, why not just play an additional home game?
4) I didn't even know Montana had schools...

I am surprised SMU admitted we were intentionally trying to weaken our schedule.

Me too, but at least they were honest. That is the only positive thing I can say about it.horsemanx wrote:I am surprised SMU admitted we were intentionally trying to weaken our schedule.

We are running away from BAYLOR...The Pony Express guys must be throwing up. If your in Year 6 of paying a guy 2 million a year and cancelling Baylor then shut the whole thing down.

Well we're still playing at A&M who's a top 5 team and at TCU who's top 20, in addition to Tech at home who is no pushover...I think we have a pretty strong OOC scheduleLakeHighlandsPony wrote:We are running away from BAYLOR...The Pony Express guys must be throwing up.
