BB question for FB fans

Post by SoCal_Pony »

How many of you die-hard football supporters also support our basketball team, or more to the point, how many of you attend the FB games but not BB. Given the season ticket sales numbers from both sports, appears like over half of you do not support BB as fervently. I do understand the logistic issues for out-of-towners.

Just curious if more of you plan to purchase season tickets this year for BB and if not, why?

Seriously believe for the first time 20 years SMU is going to field a product in a major sport that we can be proud of.

Hope SMU markets the heck out of our BB program. They certainly deserve it.

I do follow Bball, but live out of Dallas so don't buy season tix. Only 6 home games in football, so use that sport to get me to Dallas. I look forward to seeing the kind of program he can put together over the next few years.

I have had season tickets for basketball for a while, though not as long as football. I really enjoy the games and there are so many more of them than football. Can't wait for next year.

Season tickets for both, but just 2 for basketball and I have had 6 for football. I suspect that might be one additional reason for the disparity. People buy extra tickets for football to give away or invite friends since the blvd is such a social event, but they just buy the tickets they need for basketball.

Wednesday night games at 7:30pm is a big factor. I buy season tickets for BB but I can already see how hard it is to swing very many of those mid-week games with a young family. We should consider selling weekend-only packages.

Two season tickets to both. I go to all of the football and all but one or two of the basketball.

Yes, big time basketball is on the way!

I graduated last may and had been to only 2 or 3 bball games (always go to FB games) when I was an undergrad. Last year i think I went to 6 or 8 games and I wasn't in dallas that often during jan and feb. Same thing happened with all my friends. We never went before, but we all made a thing of it. LB certainly changes thngs.

The Mid week games were a great way to break the grind and go have some fun

I live out of state and BB is not practical for the time, expense and airplane travel. One of the great things about football is the "Vard" to visit and run into people. BB needs to develope something similar to make even week night games something more than just the game.

Follow BB but not as closely as football. Attend BB games when I have the opportunity which isn't very often as an out of Towner. Football is generally on the weekends where I can devote an entire day (travel, Vard).

The q1uality of the team isn't an issueas I followed the crummy FB team more closely even when we had a better BB team.

Haven't been back to Dallas for quite some time. Have been going to both the FB and BB games when SMU is at UCF for years. This year they should have killed UCF, missed what seemed like 30 uncontested 12' jumpshots. It was very tough to watch.

As a college student (not at SMU) I am a season ticket holder for football but not basketball, when I have the chance I attend basketball games though and check on BB updates frequently.
