Straight from the Hart
I suggest you send Rick a multiple choice question if you want an answer that is: (a) informative, (b) straight, and/or (c) meaningful.
For example, Why can't we go to blue jerseys?
A. The team voted for the red
B. Red shows better on TV
C. Red is easier for the QB
D. Red jerseys outsell the blue showing a fan preference for red
E. We're locked into a contract for red jerseys until 20--
F. Red jerseys are cheaper
G. Red holds its color better
H. I' don't know but I'll find out and get back to you next week
I. I don't know, I don't care and I'm going to ignore the question

Re: Straight from the Hart
For the last time, blue jerseys look better and always will. I'd buy multiple jerseys from the bookstore if they were blue. But we're stuck with red, and it's Nike's crappy red, at that.
Re: Straight from the Hart
Agree. So why can't Hart just answer the simple question? Or any simple question.
Didn't mean for my example to support red. Just showing what I consider to be a straightforward answer. Should have included answer J :
J. Blue would look good and I'll see what I can do.

Re: Straight from the Hart
I'm ok with the red jerseys. As long as we keep the white helmets with stripes and white pants with stripes I am ok with blue or red. We wore red jerseys in the Doak Walker and national championship years so that is not really one of my gripes.
Re: Straight from the Hart
We haven't had stripes on our pants since the game at atm in 2011

Re: Straight from the Hart
The idiocy of SMU never ceases to amaze me. The only era of SMU football that has ever been nationally recognized was the Pony Express era. I don't care if that era got us the death penalty, its the era that people associate with SMU greatness. Those blue uniforms with the oversized SMU on the chest were flat out some of the best uniforms in the history of college football. Do you think Miami tries to run and hide from their legacy as "The U" ? No. They embrace it. We should do the same.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I like the blue jerseys and the retro blue helmets with the red pony. The current helmets are too cUSA for me. We should change at least something now that we're going to the AAC..

Re: Straight from the Hart
The only time SMU has ever worn blue helmets was during the Phil Bennett years, so there would be nothing retro about going with blue helmets. If you want retro then we should go back to red helmets with no stripes like we wore during the Doak Walker and Jerry LeVias eras.MV pony wrote:I like the blue jerseys and the retro blue helmets with the red pony. I would have to think we were nationally recognized when we won a national championship and then landed Doak Walker. We wore red helmets and red jerseys then so I don't see the problem with wearing red.StallionsModelT wrote:The idiocy of SMU never ceases to amaze me. No one really remembers the Doak Walker era. People still remember the Pony Express era.

I agree but I'm guessing the administration thinks those unis will cause some voodoo magic effects to occur which will hex us to start 'cheating' again - like everyone else during that era.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
