Athlon: SMU 3rd best unis in AAC

Interesting look at some of our new conference mates unis. I still like our unis from 2 years ago better and think we need the blue jerseys, but at least someone likes what we have now.

We have to get rid of Nike and the silly looking half stripes over the shoulder. On the other hand, we have the best helmets in the country. Make it a blue Mustang and white facemask, and it could be the best helmet ever.

I completely disagree. You change the mustang on the helmet from red to blue and we go from having one of the best helmets to one of the worst.

I am not sure that we don't have the third best (college) uniforms in the Metroplex.
1) As much as it pains me to admit it, the Toads have significantly better uniforms than ours;
2) While not cool, the UNT uniforms are probably better than ours.

IMHO - the only "good" part of the SMU uniform is the helmet. The red uniforms are a nightmare. If we can't go with blue, I say use White as the home color because they aren't nearly as bad as the red ones.

I totally disagree. I lik TCU's but they are not better than ours. UNT's are not very appealling. I think you are greatly exagerating and pouting because we are not using the blue jerseys as you would like. I think red and blue look equally good. Blue might be better because fewer teams wear that color but they both look good.

While I do prefer Blue to Red (at least some of the time), I don't think that it is impossible to have "good" red uniforms.

SMU's uniforms look like Nike slapped together some of the features from the Nike version of the standard designs. On the current red uniforms, they look horrible.

They're not egregiously bad. I don't like the shoulder stripes, but remove them and the red isn't bad. That being said, I prefer the blue as well, using the red as an alternate. However, we could wear neon green as far as I am concerned if we don't mess with the helmet and the offense kicks into gear finally...
