Goin' Band can't go
Anything sadder than the Goin' Band from Tech that doesn't go to away games? Looks like they won't be coming to Dallas. Can't they just send a little band?
Re: Goin' Band can't go
They'd hate to get beat again by a band 1/4th the size (@ Tech 2010, I was playing there). Might as well stay home.

Goin' ... going... gone...
it's fine with me. Met them on a plane once from London, they had been to Ireland, for St. Patrick's Day which is not really celebrated in Ireland. I am pleased they are not coming because they play noise not music.

About 25 feet from the Hillcrest track... With the boots so tall and the writing on the wall...

When a band of 80 can out blow 400 then you're doing it wrong. Who says we don't do anything right(other than BOP)?

Our band people shouldn't say that we make more noise than we do. While sitting up in the smu section in Lubbock a couple years ago, couldn't hear the smu band once, and you all weren't too far away.

All that Big Twelve TV money and they can't afford a bus ride?
Re: Goin' Band can't go
wow that is pretty pathetic that a Big 12 "big" school can't take their band to a road game in state. I can't think of another band in Texas that wouldn't make the trip, hell even SFA brought their band

The Goin' Band from Raider-land won't be playin' across from the Best Dress Band in the Land?AustinPerson wrote:Anything sadder than the Goin' Band from Tech that doesn't go to away games? Looks like they won't be coming to Dallas. Can't they just send a little band?
Re: Goin' Band can't go
Alas, true. Mustang Band, person for person, can outplay a lot of bands twice its size. But not the Goin' Band. Sorry. I hate to admit it as a Mustang Band old fart, but Tech actually has one of the best sounding and marching bands in the Big 12, in my opinion. Too bad they're not coming to give the game that extra dose of college football atmosphere.AustinPerson wrote:Our band people shouldn't say that we make more noise than we do. Mustang Band just needs to make sure it actually plays twice as much and extra loud to make up for the absence.

Re: Goin' Band can't go
Surely this was decided quite a while ago and the band wasn't part of their allotment. They can't even send a pep band? Guess times are tough out there on the Plains.
