Still Think We Can Win 7 Games

I saw enough good things last night to feel good about the rest of the season. I was disappointed we didn't finish the game strong but the score doesn't really tell the story. That game was in doubt well into the fourth quarter. I think we can still win 7 games and have a shot to do some good things this year. This one hurts, but we can build on thsi performance.

Maybe we can beat 6 awful teams and go to the Hawaii Bowl. Yea!! I am ready to beat a team like Tech. This program is one big waste of time and money.

When TTU wins one or two Big 12 games, you won't feel this way. But, of course, they will improve through the course of the season. Us? History dictates otherwise.

That Tech team will not win several games-trust me. We had more offense than Tech. They better enjoy that win.

We lost to a mid to lower tier Big 12 team that probably won't make it to a bowl game this year. But since the AAC looks pretty bad I think we can get to a bowl game.

If you compare this with how we played against Baylor, we used a lot of young players and still played a lot better than we did down in Waco. We have some issues to work out on OL and RB, but I think we are a much better team than we were last season.

I predicted 6 wins, being as optimistic as I could be, which included a loss to tech. I did not see anything last night that would make me change my prediction yet.

As doleful as SMU fans are today, there were some good aspects to SMU's play against Tech last night. I am not ready to chuck in the towel after just one game.

We were in the game into the 4th quarter and it probably takes a very different turn if our earned TD is not disallowed and the Tech non-TD is disallowed. That first TD would have given us a 3 point lead. That TD they gave to Tech gave them an 11 point lead. After that the team's morale went down the drain. Like it or not, June Jone's teams at SMU are greatly impacted by morale. Once we grab the lead we build on it and once we get down 10 points we lose interest and go down like last night. There is no excuse not to keep fighting but the refs did us a great disservice. If I am the AD I tell Aresco that last night's crew is not allowed on SMU property.
