AAC Week 1. Feeling Better About Our Chances
We hung with Tech for over 3 quarters. I personally think the game would have ended within a TD if not for the holding. As soon as that happened I said game over.
Now. Our future opponents.
South Florida- Beat by FCS team McNeese State. I mean blown out 53-21. We win this game that I had originally "pencilled in" as a loss.
Uconn- Taken to the woodshed by Towson. We win this game as well.
Houston- Cannot tell from their game since it was not a real opponent. But we ever play well at UH. Undecided still.
Cinci- They are going to kill us.
Rutgers- I fell better about our chances at home since they got beat by a team we held to -16 rushing yards in our blowout win over them in December. 50/50 on this one.
UCF- Looked solid. Is this game at home? Probably going to be a L. Could be close if it is at home though.
Temple- Looked okay vs ND. At home, we squeak by them though.
Well these are my predictions after week one performances.

I think you're right on. I am more concerned about Rutgers now than before, otherwise feel the same as you. I am looking forward to see how Houston stacks up against Temple and the Memphis-Duke game to see the Tigers progress. I had penciled in a loss to USF, not so sure anymore. My eraser is ready.

Re: AAC Week 1. Feeling Better About Our Chances
let's just hope the team is focused on Montana State or we become yet another AAC team to lose to a I-AA opponent (or FCS to be politically correct)
Montana State will be a better team than McNeese or Towson

Rutgers did play very well on offense though going toe to toe with Fresno until they gambled for 2 point conversion. Fresno is a very tough place to play and David Carr was outstanding. I think Rutgers will be tough

I sure am glad we are in CUSA 2.0 with all of these fball powerhouses. We can be glad that Rice isn't in our conference so that they don't beat us again.

Re: AAC Week 1. Feeling Better About Our Chances
Watching our conference-mates play made me feel a lot better about our chances. We always seem to play better toward the end of the season....that and the weaklings in the AAC give me some optimism.

Re: AAC Week 1. Feeling Better About Our Chances
We play a quality BCS non-conference schedule and pay for it. But if we are ever going to move up in our rankings, we have to schedule these games. As a consequence of the BIG games the AAC scheudle looks easier and we can break even there.

every AAC team on our Home Schedule lost although I watched Rutgers and thought they played a very credible game. I assume Temple looked decent against Notre Dame-didn't see it

Since when. Seems I remember a collapse against UCF and some others at Ford.DanFreibergerForHeisman wrote:We don't lose home conference games.

Obviously somewhat tongue-in-cheek since we are in a new conference, but we have won 9 straight home conference games and 15 of our past 16!
