I find it strange that the Cowboys didn't put him on their practice squad. Any story behind that?

Saw this on PonyFans's Twitter page.

I assume he didn't stick with the Cowboys because (A) my moving to the 4-3 defense this year, they need less LBs, and (B) they need replacement help elsewhere (OL, DL, WR) in case of injury.

Hope he sticks with the Patriots! How cool would that be, having Reed AND Davis up there?
