Back to SMU putting 50,000 fans in seats...I'm not sure SMU administration is ready for innovative thinking on building fan base. That's what I think is required. I ran some things by to them this past week and I think I met with death ears. I didn't feel they were interested in even thinking about change let alone 'picking up the ball and running with it'. I would like to see some well laid plans of fan growth by those in charge. But, I can't see it happening.

SMU needs a PR campaign. How about a song with a catchy beat like Blurred Lines that you can't get out of your head. Lyrics and a rap track that refer to SMU, e.g., girls on the Dallas hilltop or SMU girls or da kick [deleted] pony. Get an up and coming band/rapper to record it. A legit song that you pay to get airtime on rock stations. Make SMU a cool school. Something to overcome the perception that SMU is boring old school blue bloods.
