Because the safety did not come over to cover. Not Mason's fault. Not Sanders fault.

Just like the safety did not cover he man on the back line of the end zone on the last touchdown. We miss Greenbauer very much.

Safety help or not, the best use of sanders is not covering a wide receiver. He is much better suited to rushing the passer, but teams constantly put us in positions where he is forced to cover wide receivers. Mason, whether because a lack of defensive backs or just his philosophy, leaves the base defense out there way too often when teams go 3+ wide.

Tom mason can get the [deleted] out, and I've been defending him before today. Why our 250 LB pass rushing specialist linebacker is on a wide receiver is absurd.
