Robert Timmons

Post by Mike Damone »

This guy is a 6'2" 200lb WR from Flower Mound who was a stud in high school. Was the top WR in the state his senior year. Signed with Texas as a 4-star recruit in 2002, but now according to hornfans.com is transferring. Don't know what his plans are, but hopefully we will at least inquire about it.

The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.

I'm really surprised he ever got into UT in the first place based on the academic struggles he's had even in High School.

So you think its an academic issue, rather than playing time?

he was ineligible for an entire season in HS and it generally considered a minor miracle he became eligible last year. But I don't know why he left UT-he was considered one of the greatest athletes in the Nation last year.

I saw him in HS (including a game when he was playing QB at Roosevelt -- sophomore year, I think). He's the best HS athlete I've ever seen, bar none.

maybe he can come to SMU and major in Kineisiology, Physical Therapy and Education like a number of our recruits think they're going to. Has something changed (tangible, not speculation) that we'll be offering degree programs in these areas to allow these recruits to think the way they do? I sure hope so.

interesting, it would be about time we got one or two kinesiology type majors. TCU has several. Unfortunately, thats the price of poker.

He's trouble. More than he'd be worth.

I hope wherever he ends up -- NFL, another college, whatever -- that he enjoys some success and happiness. He's had a pretty rough go of things in recent years.
And while he has the body and physical tools to play in the NFL, he's only been a receiver for a few years. He started his HS ball as a QB before moving to WR, and this last year, I don't know how much (if at all) he played. He has amazing athletic gifts, but as a WR, he's very raw.
