BCS system awards more teams than playoff. Playoff is exclusive of more teams.

Doesn't mean it's worse at determining number one.

Totally incorrect. The year TCU went undefeated and was 3rd in the nation they would have gone to the 4 team playoff instead of the Rose Bowl. A playoff is more inclusive.

The fear is that a 4 team playoff will kill the bowl system completely and cripple conferences like the AAC.
In a four team playoff, the four teams (99% of the time) will come from the SEC/B12/B10/P12/ACC/ND. While an undefeated AAC team might have a shot at getting in the playoffs, a 1 team AAC will almost never make the cut.
While a few bowls may survive in a playoff environment, they are going to demand big draws (B10/SEC/B12/ND/ACC/P12) for ratings/attendance reasons. A 1 loss Tulane/SMU/Houston will be left in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!

Total BCS propaganda there. A non BCS team has never been in the BCS championship game. A 1 loss AAC team does not have a shot at getting in the 2 team playoff now either.

Whatever the case, until you include all D-1 teams in a playoff much like baseball & basketball - you have no 'playoff'. LOL!!! It's all such a joke so why even watch???
People would be surprised how many supporters & alums of non-bcsBS teams do not watch the cartel's playoff system as it is now or was.

It remains to be seen, but experience teaches that the system is becoming ever-less inclusive. I'm pretty confident that the 4 teams we see in the playoff will almost always be 4 P5 schools.

When has the BCS championship game ever had any team but a P5 team with the current two 2 system?

And as long as the 'have-nots' sit on their lazy, collective #$#@ & do nothing, it'll always be this way.
As long as the big money supporters & the gov't (through the current student loan program subsidizing over-inflated tuition rates & research grants) continue to bail out these schools, nothing will EVER be done. Take these money sources away & you'll see a revolt you've never seen before!

But, non BCS teams have played in the big bowl games where there is money to be made. Off the top of my head, Hawaii, Boise State, and TCU cashed some big checks.
While the BCS System is not "good" for non BCS teams, it is probably "less bad" than the 4 team playoff system.

Re: Rick Hart is Pro BCS
Digetydog, I don't know if you are familiar with the new provisions but a non BCS (non P5 team) is guaranteed to be in one of the big games evey year now. This year there were no non BCS teams in the BCS bowls. Next year there will be due to the guarantee of the highest ranking G5 team being in it. You must be reading anti 4 team playoff propaganda as well without knowing the provisions that have been made. Again, in most years a non BCS team does not make to one of the big bowls now there will one guaranteed every year. I hope that clears things up.

True, the group of 5 guarantee makes the 4 team playoff better for getting non BCS teams to the six big bowl games while the old system does not. Here is a link to an article explaining it.
