A&M claims Dallas is SEC country

Post by LA_Mustang »

If I was a football coach at SMU, this would [deleted] me off. May even make me leave the driving range.

"At the level where we are" why should it make them mad?

I think this means we're getting an SEC invite ASAP.

Even if SMU weren't in Dallas, it would [deleted] me off. The SEC is for toothless southeasterners.

A&M also claims that grown men in fake military outfits squeezing their balls is "tradition".

Big 12 does not have a school in Dallas. The onus is on them...

On another note: It really pissed me off when June said we are not looking to compete vs. Big 12 and SEC for recruits. I get it that it is harder for us due to lesser conference prestige, but come on! Larry loves SMU and is proving we can keep DFW kids here and form a solid program. We should go out and make DFW Mustang Country!

Agreed ... talk about getting the recruiting bang for your buck. Take the DFW area and a 50 radius around it ... tell all your coaches to saturate ... saturate and saturate that area only ... we would have some serious classes. Coaches don't want to travel far and/or be out of town no problem. You would be on first name basis with the janitor at every school.

If we did that I'm sure several conferences would be seriously looking at SMU as a potential member.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Our new tag line should be "Taking Dallas Back", but we need a leader to take charge.

Apparently Dallas is now the territory of a state-sponsored, sheep raping cult. Save the children.

And for people who like to watch real college football and watch the players who are going to be playing on sundays in the next couple years.

Also, I thought for sure Dallas was American Athletic Conference country? Why don't we do some sort of marketing thing where we say something like, SMU is Dallas's team? or something.

A&M is a clown school, and say what you want, but Dallas is SEC country. There's tons of Arkansas, LSU, Bama, and A&M grads in Dallas. Not to mention SEC teams annually playing regular season games at Jerryworld. The SEC wants to make its imprint in Texas and it's doing it. The only smart thing A&M has ever done is join the SEC and damn it's looking like a shrewd move. Compare A&M and Texas' recruiting class this year and tell me which conference Texas kids want to play for these days
