Ben Moore's potential

Post by Pony_Law »

How good is Ben moore going to be? He struggled from the line tonight but he was great on the glass and showed great poise inside. If he can improve his FT and develop a 10-12 foot jumper and add about 10-20 lbs to help absorb the inside punishment, I could see him being an all AAC type player.

Loved Larry Brown's quote about him (see post-game videos on PonyFans.com home page): "If (Moore's) coach knew how to use him, he'd be a hell of a player."

Yeah, he's said similar things a few times. It's kind of amusing. Ben definitely shows a lot of promise. Sometimes I feel like he's a little tentative with the ball underneath the basket, but I love watching him play. And he really helped break Cincinnati's press a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah he was a grown [deleted] man against Cincy. I can't wait for him to reach his full potential!

I've noticed since start of the season that when fouled he is much better on 2nd free throw than first-I'd like to see a stat on that confirming it

I can say, with absolutely no data to back it up, that it has seemed that way to me as well.

He is our best freshman currently. If he can put on weight he will be an absolute monster for us.

Highest potential on the team. GREAT instincts, really good athlete, great instincts, good handles, good passer, decent shooter, good length. Just a baller. He'll be a much better athlete when he grows into that lanky body

Just wait until he gets a season under his belt and some meat on those bones. I think he'll be a crowd favorite and a huge part of the coming success we are headed for.

I think Ben has a chance to be a very good college player. While he has NBA potential I think that just because we have not seen a lot of athletic 6'8" players in the program we might be jumping the gun a bit on the NBA but you never now. Now we will be getting more of these types of players in that may be taller and more refined than Ben in the future classes.

Here's a good stat:
Shaq Goodwin leads official AAC stats with a shooting percentage of .612%
Ben Moore has a shooting percentage of .703% but apparently hasn't taken enough shots to qualify

Did you see him go down a take out an opposing player at the knees? Most flagrant foul I have ever seen.
