I think we did not get a bid because of our recent recruits. They hope a non-bid will cause future four and five star recruits to take a pass on SMU and AAC as second rate.

This thought occurred to me as well...Myles Turner news leak and NCAA snub on the same Sunday...is there a competative influence here?

I think it played a factor.

It's called killing 2 birds with 1 stone, prop up the ACC while putting down the AAC and specifically SMU.
