Students waving Bye-Bye to disappointed LSU fans

Post by SMU1523 »

Probably my favorite part of the night. I was seated in 215 and was very close to the majority of LSU fans in Moody. When SMU laid down the hammer, they left in droves. I loved how the student section was waving goodbye to all of them. The students weren't too obnoxious, but just enough to make it funny! A few LSU people kindly waved back.

An LSU fan sitting in front of us was wearing a shirt that on the back stated My team is better then your team. She had that covered up as she left early. I got a kick out of that.

Well, it's ok. They always have their education to fall back on.

Oh, wait.

One thing I got a kick out of watching on TV: in the latter stages of the game Jordan Mickey came off the floor and as he took a seat on the bench I could see one of the cartoon characters giving him an earful.

I hope he was yelling something like: "Hey Jordan, you chose he wrong bench!". Or something to that effect.

You mean the Louisiana Correctional Facilities to fall back on.

Why can't someone just go to the game and cheer for their team, boo the refs some and enjoy it. why do they feel they need to be rude to the fans and players on the opposing team? Some places you can't even take your family any more because it is too dangerous, especially when alcohol is involved. Sure, I know LSU fans are some of the worst but can't we win and do it with class too?

I know if I had a family I would be terrified of Moody too. It's almost as bad as going to a Raiders game... Come on, Moody is the farthest thing from hostile to opposing fans.

Students are getting it from the adult fans who feel like classlessly booing 18 and 19 year old kids from other school as they come on to the court makes them intimidating.

My family cheers "S-M-U" while the other team comes on the court. It's our little effort to class up the boo birds.

Have fun people and quit telling others what to do - the exception is no cussing or spilling beer.

Just cheer your own way. People take cues from those around them more than you'd think. I'm in the camp that booing college kids is a little silly so I don't do it, but I could care less if others do. It is a sporting event and I don't think the players and coaches really care about being booed. They probably wouldn't be where they are if they did.

The only things truly over the line in my opinion are racist (or similarly bigoted) remarks, threats of violence, or applauding/cheering an injury to a player. I haven't seen any of those things at an SMU game.

I generally think our fans are great; however they are currently cheering/booing seems to be working.
