I would go if I were in Dallas. A nice way to spend a quiet session without that annoying sound of pads clashing.

June's disdain for spring practice is only rivaled by his disdain for recruiting.

Decisions, decisions. Go to practice or watch this paint dry.
And it's watch paint dry by a hair.

I know there is a lot of sarcasm on this board, and I understand the reasons, but I quite enjoyed myself. Got to talk to several players while standing on sidelines, and the best part was I got to meet and spend a few minutes with one of my boyhood heroes, Jerry Levias. I agree that spring practices really don't tell you anything about how the season will go, but now I am more excited about football and can't wait until next Fall (given that Sept will likely be rough)

Anything you can report? How did Burcham look? Who got most reps at RB? Did the lines even hit really? If so, how did each one look?
I'm morbidly curious.

burcham looked okay, in my opinion he was the best of the qb's out there; he definitely had some nice throws along the sidelines (although they werent always caught). I thought cassel looked alright too, he is better than I had expected at least. The Wr's are as small as advertised. Gaines is an exception, he is a big thick target. If June doesnt use him as the primary target in the redzone my head will explode this season. A lot of wideouts were dropping balls and not high pointing jump balls against db's. The receiving corps looked thin and filled with mediocrity basically is what I saw. I think Darius joseph will be our most reliable target, just my guess. The DB's had a nice swagger about them today and were flying to the ball. it was either our offense was that bad or our db's were good, but I actually think they played really well. Shak Randolph is huge and a presence on the backend at safety, I hope he gets quality PT. It was windy today so that might have been a small factor for qb's.

Re: SMU Open Practice Roll Call
KC and Line, P got the rb reps. KC was catching swing routes out of the backfield. I think we have a real opportunity to blend a nice running back stable this season with nlemchi, pope if he plays rb, greshman, and line. Nlemchi is a good scat back which is a dimension i think this offense really lacks. We will see how greshman adapts to the college game and how quickly that takes him. Idk what the story is with pope, does anyone have insight on this? If he is eligible and if he does play both ways he is obviously going to need to be spelled a lot at rb, theres no way he can sustain playing at a high level both ways all season without sharing some reps. LIne I think would be nice in short yardage situations, or if god forbid we were to use a fullback.
