Following her oustanding freshman season at SMU, freshman Dasha Sharapova has been named to the American Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, league officials announced Thursday. Sharapova posted an overall mark of 18-12 this season and spent time at the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles positions. In doubles, the freshman went 21-7 overall and was paired with four different teammates. Her best mark came with sophomore Vaszilisza Bulgakova as the tandem recorded a 16-4 overall record including an 11-3 mark at the No. 1 spot.
"This is well deserved award as Dasha had a good freshman year," head coach Kati Gyulai said. "She was very resilient all season long as she showed great desire and discipline throughout the year."

That's awesome. Being all conference as a freshman sure makes her future look good.
