Virginia Tech transfer Ben Emelogu has committed to SMU, he told CBSSports.com on Monday morning.

SMU -- Transfer U. Hometown kid. From Grand Prairie. His offer list from 2013 was all over the place.

WOW! Didn't see that coming! Emelogu was name VT team caption as a true freshman - averaged 10.5 pts, 3 rebounds and shot 37% from behind the arc as a freshman.

And for those wondering, he will have to sit out this season. Will be eligible as a sophomore in 2015-16. Just stockpiling talent, upper level talent!

Rivals shows that he had offers from TCU, Marquette and Washington. My guess is LB talked to him but didn't offer because Emelogu was strong with VT.
