For a number of years Kellogg has hosted a Soiree to benefit BBBS, and SMU alumni have been activity involved to help. Someone from the planning committee has reached out to me to see if I can help obtain some items for the silent auction. I'm just not sure my seats for bball/fball are good enough, and my nostalgia items are old-school (i.e., stuff signed by Doak and FG).
The event is August 23rd @ Gilley's. If you have something SMU-related that would make for a good auction item and you are willing to donate it, please let me know. I'll put you in touch with my Kellogg guy. It benefits a good group and it helps promote SMU.
Thank you!

Re: Big Brothers Big Sisters and SMU

I have this I would donate to a good cause. The sell pretty well on eBay. Usually $75-$100 last I checked. It held bourbon. It is empty and the cork is broken and the hat has a chip in it. They are collector items but I am not sure the condition would suffice.

Re: Big Brothers Big Sisters and SMU
Thanks Mark! I may actually try and buy it from you at some point (a little negotiation at 33), but here's kind of what I had in mind (I should have specified):
- Good seats to A&M or TCU (with parking). I have max seats for fball, but they aren't in 104/204, etc.
- A team autographed bball (HCLB & team).
- Something unique from one of the pro players.
- I'm not sure our bball tix will arrive in time, but one of the better games.
I get that most in 104 don't want to part with his/her A&M tix, but in the event you aren't able to make the game I thought I would throw this out as an extra option.
Also, if anyone is interested in attending, link below:

Re: Big Brothers Big Sisters and SMU
I almost always have one extra ticket in 104 but, I doubt one ticket helps much.
I have an autographed photo of Thomas Morstead in action punting in SMU uniform (Blue).
I have a Wilson kicking tee signed by Morstead with letter of authenticity. Allegedly used in East West Shrine game.
And of clourse the one item that could be sold for the most money would be a large round, red button that reads:
SMU
My Son's Number
39
Proud Parents

I think all of those have tremendous value, but maybe just a tiny little bit more for the current holder!mrydel wrote:I almost always have one extra ticket in 104 but, I doubt one ticket helps much.
