Banjo Released

Post by FIVE-O-FAN »

The Packers released Chris Banjo today after an impressive preseason. He actually had them thinking about keeping five safeties. Virtual certainty to latch on with someone's 53. I watched every down of the Packers season last year. He is absolutely an NFL player.

bummer.

“I feel like I did everything I possibly could,” Banjo said afterward. “Sometimes, for a lot of people, that’s not enough. So we’ll see.”

“Taking it a day at a time,” Banjo said. “I know I say it a lot, but I genuinely mean that. In this league, you really do have to take things a day at a time with the way things change so fast. If you get caught up in the way things are going at a certain time or situation, it can really get the best of you. So I do my best to take it a day at a time.

"To even be in this situation is a blessing. I definitely remember where I was."

good attitude, performed well -- he has to land on another team, for sure.

Sounds encouraging for him to get picked up somewhere.

In Green Bay’s 34-14 win over the Chiefs Thursday night, Banjo was active again with six solo tackles, including one jarring hit on punt returner Frankie Hammond for no gain. It was the kind of hit that gets a player onto a team.

added back to practice squad.

After exposing Chris Banjo to waivers Saturday night, the Packers have used one of their two veteran designations on the practice squad to bring back the second-year safety, who was among the 18 players released during the final roster reduction.
