He's doing the Tulsa-Memphis game for ESPN. Would he do well at SMU?

No, he was a massive failure at Colorado and his success at Boise State was primarily due to Chris Petersen. If we go the retread route (ugh) then there are much better options.

A lot of what the other guys are saying. I watched him at Colorado. I listened to him. It doesn't work for me for SMU.

He drove CU's program into the ground and it still hasn't recovered (not all attributable to him)

Absolutely not. The whole point of getting a new coach is to ensure we stop failing. He is a proven failure. Why should we even consider him?

That's what it seems like to me, too, but figured I would throw it out there to see if anyone had a different perspective. Looks like everyone sees it the same way

He was fired last year as coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL after just four games.
(He was Marc Trestman's replacement).
I'm sure there are dozens of more qualified candidates than him.
