Seating for 2015-16
Looks like they will give us an option to keep our current seats. After all the introductory BS, here's the letter:
Due to increasing demand for season tickets, SMU Athletics will reseat Moody Coliseum before the 2015-16 basketball season. The reseating will also be done for a number of additional reasons:
Allow long-time men's basketball season ticket holders an opportunity to retain their existing or original seat locations
Correct seating issues that were identified following the renovation of Moody Coliseum
Reward our donors by giving them the opportunity to improve seat locations
Align seat location within Moody Coliseum with level of support for the athletic department
Increase revenue which supports all 17 varsity sports and 424 student athletes
Below is a summary of communications you will receive in the coming months:
Early December 2014 - Focus group regarding details on the seating plan (invitation will be sent through email; space will be limited)
Early December 2014 - Mustang Club annual brochure and solicitation will be sent out
Mid December 2014 - Website dedicated to reseating will be launched; finalized reseating plans will be shared with all current season ticket holders
March 31, 2015 - Deadline for Mustang Club Donations
May, 2015 - Reseating instructions mailed to season ticket holders
June, 2015 - Reseating begins
The details of the plan are currently being finalized, however purchasing season tickets for the 2015-16 season will only be an option for those who have season tickets this year. [b]While the location of your seats may change, you will not lose the opportunity to purchase Men's Basketball season tickets

Anxious to see how much it's going to cost to keep existing seats for everybody.

If this team doesn't pick it up and make the tourney then they might have a hard time raising the prices very much, especially after last years increases.

Im not sure there is a solution to handle this, but there are going to be some very mad young alumns who have been in the mob for two years not who graduate this may and can't get tickets. I'm thanking my lucky stars I got in this season.

Re: Seating for 2015-16
dumb question but is the 'new' seating arrangement going to add more seats or take away a few seats?

Please pay more for a team that isn't performing at an NCAA tournament level. Ok.

Double up whatever your paying now in order to retain your seats. Oh, and if you've held tickets for the past 30 years, bummer. The bandwagon fan just donated 10K so he gets your seats now and you get to go to the back of the line. That's what it means.
I find it very funny that they're doing a reseat after you couldn't give the tickets away just two years ago. Basically screw everyone that has had tickets for more than this year and capitalize while the team has LB.

Bullet one does say that long-time ticket holders have the opportunity to retain their existing seats. No doubt it will cost at least double.

You won't. They'll say that, but the guys who recently donated 10K are going to those nice red seats and sidelines. I've seen this happen once or twice. Illinois is doing it right now, at least they're not doubling prices though and it's because the stadium is getting renovated. Kentucky just did it with their football stadium, but coinciding with the renovation. SMU could've done it when they re-opened Moody. This is purely to capitalize on LB for another two years and pray the team is decent. It's not hard to read between the lines.

I just know it's not going to be pleasant and a lot more people are going to end up upset than end up happy.

Seems like the new attitude is to screw the bball fans on pricing so that the admin can pay for our disaster of a fball program. that may work until bball fails to meet expectations and then watch ticket sales drop like a rock.

Eh the way I see it, just will annoy the loyal fans that have followed the team for years while people that didn't even know the team existed until they were on the front page of the DMN donate 5-10K for the year and sit in the plush red seats.
