Desoto Coach
Can anyone shed some light on what is going on there? Would love to see him on this staff for multiple reasons. What is the delay, or is it not happening?

I'm not sure anyone can post on a public board what the holdup is. "Discussions".

Re: Desoto Coach
My understanding is that the plan is to add Mathis to the staff, but nothing is known until an official announcement (I know … always eloquent and insightful!)
The HR process can, at times, move along at a good clip, but at other times, the process can move with glacial speed.

Per the DMN, Morris sounds optimistic about adding Mathis:
"Things are looking really good [and] we’ll see how things unfold over the next few days."

I watched them play Cedar Hill this season and he is high octane. I like his passion.

I have seen 2-3 Desoto games each season since he has been at the school. Needs to stay at Desoto. He is a perfect fit there. Successful high school coach.

Coached against Claude last year. He has done a phenomenal job at Desoto, and he would be a great recruiter for us because he has a ton of credibility in the greater South Dallas area. However, I am also a bit concerned. He is notorious for his sideline antics. Some call it passion. Some call it lack of class. I've coached high school football for 12 years, and I don't know if I can remember a sideline as vulgar and rough as his was last year. I certainly have mixed feelings about the hire.
